About the event
The Winter Field Methods Course is an optional add-on to CRIC, giving participants the chance to move from classroom conversation to hands-on fieldwork. Held at the Scotty Creek Research Station, a site with nearly 30 years of continuous environmental research in the NWT, the course offers direct, applied experience with the tools and techniques used in real northern field science.
Participants will learn practical winter field methods used by researchers working in permafrost, hydrology, and northern ecosystem science, guided by experienced staff and researchers who know the land and the station well.
