About the event

The Community Research & Innovation Conference (CRIC) is a three-day, plain-language conference on environmental science in the North, bringing together Northern Indigenous community members, researchers, consultants, and academic institutions from across the country. The conference is open to people of all ages and backgrounds, whether you're a community member curious about the science happening where you live, a student exploring future career paths, or a professional working in the field.

Over three days, the conference will feature educational sessions on current environmental science topics in the North, along with dedicated networking opportunities to help build lasting connections between community members and the institutions doing research and work on the land. A significant part of the program is set aside specifically for investing in youth: informational sessions, mentorship, and professional development opportunities designed to build the skills, confidence, and leadership young people need to pursue a career, education, or even entrepreneurship…
